On Wednesday, Bhumi Pednekar’s highly anticipated film, Bhakshak’s trailer was unveiled. Bhakshak trailer shows a compelling narrative, where Bhumi assumes the role of Vaishali Singh, an investigative journalist determined to expose individuals connected to a case of sexual assault on girls at a shelter home. Directed by Pulkit, “Bhakshak” is set to stream on Netflix from February 9.

The trailer unveils Vaishali Singh’s courageous journey as she raises her voice against powerful men responsible for the abuse of young girls in the Bihar shelter home abuse case. It emphasizes her relentless fight for justice against the corrupt administration, with Sanjay Mishra portraying Bhaskar Sinha, her ally, in the battle against the antagonist Bansi Sahu, played by Aditya Srivastava.

Shah Rukh Khan, backed by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment, presents Bhakshak. The trailer, shared on Instagram, highlights a story of resilience inspired by true events. The film, also starring Sanjay Mishra, Sai Tamhankar, and Surya Sharma, is set to release exclusively on Netflix on 9th February. Bhumi Pednekar Reflects on Challenging Role as Journalist in Bhakshak

In discussing her role as a journalist in Bhakshak, Bhumi Pednekar recently shared with news agency ANI her profound experience stepping into the shoes of a journalist. She expressed,

“Journalism is a difficult career, requiring a lot of courage to ask the right questions, especially to those in power. To ask questions fearlessly definitely needs a lot of courage… I salute the journalists out there for doing their job with integrity and fearlessness. I have learned a lot by working on this film. I feel honoured.”

She added,

“Working on Bhakshak was quite challenging as it is based on a sensitive and hard-hitting topic. The film asks questions at a core level that is bound to shake one’s conscience. I hope the film sparks conversations that lead to meaningful change. The film sheds light on the crimes against the children.”

The Bhakshak trailer provides glimpses of Aditya Srivastava portraying a corrupt figure orchestrating the assaults, Sanjay Mishra as the cameraman, and Sai Tamhankar as a police officer, withholding key plot details.
