The new release date for Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film “Emergency” has been officially announced, following her participation in the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya. On Tuesday, January 23, the actress used her social media platforms to reveal the movie’s new poster and release date. The revised release date coincides with Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Chandu Champion.’

 In her Instagram post, Kangana urged followers to unlock the narrative behind India’s darkest hour, announcing the film with the hashtag #Emergency.  Alongside the announcement, Kangana shared a new poster for “Emergency,” emphasizing that she not only stars in but has also directed and written the movie.

Kangana Announces Emergency Release Date

The release date for “Emergency” has been proclaimed by Kangana, with the poster showcasing her portrayal of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Kangana had initially scheduled the film for a November release last year. However, she subsequently declared,

“Dear friends, I am making an important announcement. The Emergency movie embodies all the learnings and earnings from my entire life as an artist. Emergency is more than just a film; it serves as a test of my worth and character as an individual. The overwhelming response our teaser and other elements received from everyone has provided encouragement to all of us.”

Kangana’s Statement on Emergency

Kangana, according to news agency PTI, stated, “Emergency is my most ambitious project and second directorial post-Manikarnika; we have the best of Indian and international talent come together for this big-budget, grand period drama.”

Directing and starring in Emergency, Kangana expressed, as per ANI,

“I consider Emergency as one of the most significant and darkest chapters in our history that young India needs to know. It’s a crucial story, and I extend my gratitude to my super-talented actors like the late Satish ji, Anupam ji, Shreyas, Mahima, and Milind for joining me on this creative journey. I am thrilled to bring this extraordinary episode from India’s history to the big screen. Jaihind!”

Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films are producing Emergency, positioned as a mega-budget portrayal of the most controversial event in Indian Democracy’s history. The official logline underscores the central figure in this narrative as Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the first woman Prime Minister of India, adding to the spectacle.

An ensemble cast including Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik complements the film. Ritesh Shah takes credit for crafting the screenplay and dialogues. The storyline revolves around the life of the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, with Kangana assuming the titular role. “Emergency” marks Kangana’s directorial debut without collaboration, showcasing her solo directorial venture.
