Nupur Shikhare and Ira Khan Ditch Tradition with Unusual Wedding Attires

Nupur Shikhare was dressed in shorts and a vest in his wedding ceremony with Ira Khan. Both got married on 3rd January 2024. Ira is famous actor Aamir Khan’s daughter. The marriage took place in Mumbai at Taj Lands End. Ira asked Nupur to take a shower after their marriage registration. Now, they are officially Mr and Mrs Nupur Shikhare.

Ira received a proposal from Nupur in 2022 after he had finished the Ironman Triathlon. The Triathlon was held in Italy. Ira accepted the proposal from the love of her life and gave the green signal for the wedding. Nupur wore the same dress that he wore for his wedding when he proposed to Ira. Both of them are fitness enthusiasts and this is what bonds them together.

Fans displayed their reaction of dismay and surprise to the photos and videos of Nupur’s attire on his big day on social media. It was difficult to assume that Nupur was not paying attention to his dress and he was so much underdressed. The unusual dress created a buzz with people commenting and writing about it on social media, especially Instagram.

The user had posted a comment on Instagram “I can’t stop laughing at his absolute disregard for getting dressed”.

Another individual tweeted “Ira and Nupur’s wedding will go down in Bollywood wedding history as one of the ugliest looking weddings… marrying in kachha-baniyan (underwear)”. 

Why Did Nupur Shikhare Choose An Athletic Attire?

Nupur’s attire surprised people raising the question of why the groom was wearing a casual dress on such an important occasion.

Nupur is a trainer and fitness coach. He was in a relationship with Ira and had a registered marriage. Strange it may seem but he decided to jog to attend the marriage ceremony at the venue instead of a car or any other vehicle. The dress gave him an athletic look. Nupur wore the same dress when he met Ira’s family.

Ira Khan met the paparazzi and seemed to be excited about clicking photos for those who were enthusiastic about taking her pictures. Ira was wearing a choli that was of velvet material. She was also wearing dhoti pants. She covered her hair and head with a net dupatta. The dress looked beautiful on Ira and it helped enhance the wedding look. On the other hand, the groom wore a blue bandh gala.
