Although there’s no confirmed streaming release date, Warner Bros. is expected to debut it on Max for subscribers. Meanwhile, Max subscribers can currently enjoy the 1985 version for free, a cinematic classic with 11 Academy Award nominations, including a nod for Whoopi Goldberg as Best Actress.

Following the pattern, Max will stream The Color Purple within two to three months of its theatrical release, anticipated between February and March 2024.
