Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, 81, has been admitted to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. He was reportedly taken there early Friday morning for an angioplasty on his leg.

Neither the hospital nor Bachchan’s family has issued an official statement yet. Sources inform that the procedure was for a clot in his leg, not his heart. Further updates on his health are awaited.

Earlier this year, Amitabh Bachchan had surgery on his wrist, as he mentioned in his January blog post while attending an event. Despite this, he continued working on his upcoming projects.

Just before news of his hospitalisation broke, he expressed gratitude on social media and shared a video from a recent event. He also posted a video with his son Abhishek Bachchan during a match.

On March 14, Majhi Mumbai beat Chennai Singams, owned by Tamil star Suriya, by 58 runs, thanks to Abhishek Dalhor’s great performance. Bachchan’s team has reached the final of the first ISPL – T10 league.

Amitabh Bachchan’s Upcoming Movies

Amitabh Bachchan is set to appear alongside Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone in “Kalki 2898 AD,” directed by Nag Ashwin, known for his works like “Yevade Subramanyam” and “Mahanati.”

Additionally, he is making his Tamil debut with “Vettaiyan,” written and directed by T. J. Gnanavel. The film also features Rajinikanth, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati.

Bachchan is also lending his voice for playback singing in the upcoming Kannada movie “Butterfly,” directed by Ramesh Aravind, starring Parul Yadav and Elli Avram.
