At the Academy Awards 2024 on March 10, John Cena shocked the audience worldwide by appearing naked on stage to present the Oscar for Best Costume Design for “Poor Things.” Host Jimmy Kimmel had teased Cena’s unconventional entrance earlier in the ceremony. Oppenheimer led the nominations with 13 nods, while Poor Things followed closely with 11 nominations. Ultimately, Oppenheimer secured seven trophies, including the Academy Awards 2024 for Best Picture and the Oscar for Best Director.
Emma Stone of Poor Things clinched the Oscar for Best Actress, beating out Killers of the Flower Moon’s hopefuls. Billie Eilish made history by winning her second Oscar for her Barbie song, while Cillian Murphy became the first Irish-born actor to win the Academy Awards 2024 for Best Actor.
