The 69th edition of the Filmfare Awards over the weekend marked the commencement of Bollywood’s award season. The Filmfare Awards 2024, hosted in Gujarat, witnessed power couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor securing top acting honours. Alia Bhatt clinched the Best Actress award for her impactful portrayal in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, while Ranbir Kapoor earned the Best Actor accolade for his stellar performance in Animal.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal emerged as a dominant force in the Filmfare Awards 2024, bagging a total of 6 prestigious trophies. Vidhu Vino Chopra’s 12th Fail claimed some of the most coveted awards of the night, including Best Film and Best Director. In the Critics category, Vikrant Massey garnered the Best Actor award for his role in 12th Fail.
Vicky Kaushal, nominated for Best Actor (Critics) for his role in Sam Bahadur, secured the Best Supporting Actor award for his impactful performance in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki. Filmmaker David Dhawan received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. Aditya Rawal, the actor in Faraaz, claimed the Best Debut (Male) award, while Alizeh Agnihotri, the actress in Farrey, emerged victorious with the Best Debut (Female) award.
In a noteworthy moment, Rani Mukherji and Shefali Shah jointly received the Best Actress (Critics) award for their exceptional performances in Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway and Three Of Us, respectively. The Filmfare Awards 2024 truly celebrated outstanding achievements in the cinematic realm.
