Today, Ola Electric unveiled a new model of the Ola S1X, featuring a 4 kWh battery and a price tag of Rs 1,09,999. The company is set to commence deliveries from April this year. During a live event, Aggarwal revealed an enhanced warranty for Ola scooters, extending it to 8 years and 89,000 kms, asserting that Ola scooters will now boast a 2X lifespan compared to petrol scooters.
Ola Electric Launches S1X Models, Promises Extended Warranty for Scooters
CEO and Founder Bhavish Aggarwal further revealed that the company is initiating the delivery of the S1X (3 kWh) model from April. It’s noteworthy that the Ola S1X 2 kWh is priced at Rs 79,999, while the 3 kWh model carries an ex-showroom price of Rs 89,999.
In a live event, Aggarwal also declared an enhanced warranty for all Ola scooters, extending it to 8 years and 89,000 kms. He emphasized that with this improved warranty, Ola scooters will boast a 2X lifespan compared to petrol scooters.
Ola CEO Updates on EV Industry Growth and Charging Network Expansion
Aggarwal stated that the EV industry has experienced substantial progress since Ola’s introduction of the Gen 1 S1 Pro scooter on August 15, 2021. Addressing service concerns, the Ola CEO highlighted that EVs incur significantly lower maintenance costs compared to ICE vehicles, as they require less frequent servicing.
Additionally, he announced plans to establish 10,000 charging points by the next quarter, expressing Ola’s commitment to further enhance its charging network.
Ola Electric Unveils Feature-Rich 4 kWh S1X Scooter at Event
During the event, Aggarwal emphasized Ola’s three-year history, highlighting its ongoing potential.
The new Ola S1X (4kWh) model shares a 90 km/h top speed with the 3 kWh variant but boasts an extended range of 190 km. Accelerating from 0-40 kmph in 3.3 seconds, it features a 2.7kW/6kW motor. The scooter ensures a home charging time of 6.5 hours, provides 34L of boot space, and includes a 4.3-inch instrument cluster, physical key, twin telescopic front suspension, dual shock rear suspension, and drum brakes. With three driving modes (eco, sport, normal), it incorporates features like side stand alert and cruise control. Notably, similar to other S1X models, it excludes navigation, Bluetooth, music, or hyper mode.
