Ashok Vaswani, armed with over three decades of experience at Citi Group and Barclays, brings a wealth of expertise to his new role as MD and CEO of Kotak Bank. During his tenure at Barclays Bank in the UK, Vaswani served as the CEO of their global consumer, private, corporate, and payments business. Kotak Mahindra Bank Q2 FY24 Earnings
Kotak Mahindra Bank reported a net profit of Rs 3,191 crore for the July-September FY24 quarter, marking a 23.66 per cent increase from the year-ago period’s Rs 2,581 crore. The net profit exceeded market estimates of Rs 3,092 crore.
The net interest income (NII) witnessed a significant rise, reaching Rs 6,297 crore, a 23.49 per cent increase from the previous fiscal’s Rs 5,099 crore. This NII also slightly surpassed the market estimate of Rs 6,226 crore.
Kotak Bank’s gross non-performing asset (NPA) reduced to 1.72 per cent, down from the 2.08 per cent recorded in the same quarter last year. Conversely, the net NPA for the quarter improved to 0.37 per cent from 0.55 per cent on a year-on-year basis.
