PM Modi inaugurated the new terminal building of the Tiruchirapalli International Airport on 2nd January 2024.
The terminal building at the airport consists of two levels. It has been built at a cost of more than 1100 crore rupees. The building can accommodate more than 44 lakh people per year. It can also bear about 3500 passengers in busy times or peak hours. This information has been provided by the prime minister’s office or PMO which has posted this on an official release.
The new terminal building has excellent facilities. It has the latest and most advanced features, making travelling more convenient.
PM Modi Inaugurates Projects of Rs 20,000 Crore
Modi also inaugurated 20,000 crore rupees projects in diverse fields like aviation, road, higher education, shipping, and rail. Some projects related to oil and gas in Tiruchirapalli were also inaugurated. Tiruchirapalli is a city in Tamilnadu.
Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindiya Felicitates PM Modi
A public program was organised in Tiruchirapalli in which the aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindiya felicitated Modi. Scindia addressed the audience and praised the prime minister. He said that the central government was developing airports in the country to boost growth and development. He added that airports are important for travel and give employment to a large number of people. Scindia said that Modi worked with the motto that anyone who wears a Hawai chappal can also travel in Hawai Jahaj. The development of airports is a cherished dream for the prime minister. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also attended the function.
Modi attended the convocation event at the Bharathidasan University before the inauguration of the airport. He awarded degrees to students in the convocation event; the governor of Tamilnadu was also present during the convocation ceremony.
The inauguration of the new airport at the city of Tiruchirapalli is a step towards Modi’s vision of Vikas in the southern States in the southern part of the Vindhyas.
PM Modi Addresses the Gathering After Inaugurating the Airport
Modi addressed the audience after the inauguration of the airport. It was the first time he addressed the people in the New Year 2024. He expresses his worry about the damage due to rain and floods that happened in December 2023. Modi expressed concern over the loss of life to the people of Tamilnadu. He said that his government supports the people of the state in the moment of crisis and would provide help to the state government.
The prime minister praised late actor Vijayakanth who was also DMDK leader. He said that the captain had performed well in cinema as well as politics. Vijayakanth gave more importance to National interest than anything else. Modi paid tributes to Vijayakanth and gave condolences to the late actor’s family and fans.
