Four women from India appear in the Forbes Most Powerful Women List 2023. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Finance minister of India has received the 32nd rank on the list.
Forbes announces the most powerful women in the world every year. It released its list for this year on 5th December.
This is the fifth time the finance minister of India has appeared on the Forbes list. Sitharaman was in the 34th place on the Forbes list in 2019 and 41 rank in 2020. She got the 37th position in 2021 and the 36th position in the list in 2022.
The Forbes list also includes the names of Taylor Swift and Kamala Harris.

Nirmala Sitharaman has got the 32nd position on the list.
The Forbes list of powerful women has three other women from India. They are Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Soma Mondal, and Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw.
Roshni Nadar has received the 60th rank. Soma Mondal is in the 70th position. Kiran Shaw has received the 76th rank.
Roshni Nadar Malhotra is the Chief Executive Officer of HCL. She is a billionaire. Her father, Shiv Nadar is the ex-chairperson of the company. He handed over the position to his daughter in 2020. Roshni takes all important decisions of the corporation. The CEO has an MBA degree from the Kellogg School of Management.
Soma Mondal is the head of the Steel Authority of India. She took over the position in 2021. Soma is an engineer and has helped the firm achieve financial growth.
Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw is the founder of Biocon. She is successful in making the biopharmaceutical firm successful. Biocon has entered the US market.

Ursula von der Leyen has grabbed first place in the Forbes list. She is the current European Commission chief.
Forbes has given the second rank to Christine Lagarde. She is the head of the European Central Bank.
Kamala Harris has the third rank. Currently, she is the vice president of the US.

Singer and songwriter Beyonce is in the 35th position on the list. Singer Rihanna has received the 74th rank. The Chairperson of Universal Pictures, Donna Langley is in the 54th place.
The prime minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, Melinda Gates, the Chairperson of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Jane Fraser, CEO of Citigroup, are also listed among the most powerful women.
